The Gift of Cancer
Looking back, I can confidently say that my experience with cancer was one of the biggest blessings of my life. Yes, I said it. It is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received and I would not trade what it has taught me for anything. I have worked as a professional makeup artist in the entertainment industry for almost 30 years. During that time, I have been surrounded by all types of beauty. Being diagnosed with stage II breast cancer 10 years ago completely changed my perspective on beauty. My story is like so many others as I lived a healthy lifestyle and had no family history of cancer. I just did not understand how I could possibly have cancer.
